How to Check and Pay Fines in Dubai

Maintaining a clean driving record in Dubai is very important for smooth and trouble-free travel on the roads. This guide presents a simple and convenient way to check traffic fines, along with an explanation of how to quickly pay them through the official website.

Step 1: Go to the Official Website

Visit: ums.rta.ae/violations/public-fines/fines-search

Step 2: Choose Search Option

On the page, choose the search option Plate Details.

Step 3: Enter Your Car Details

Fill in the following fields:

• Plate Source: Dubai
• Plate Category: Private
• Plate Code: Your vehicle code (e.g., BB)
• Plate Number: Your vehicle number

Click Search.

Step 4: View Your Fines

You'll see a list of unpaid fines, including:

• Date of violation
• Type of violation
• Amount

Step 5: Select and Pay

Select the fine you want to pay and click Pay.

Important: Knowledge & Innovation Fee

For fines issued in Dubai, an extra 20 AED Knowledge & Innovation Fee is always added.

This is a mandatory government fee charged per fine to cover RTA IT services and transaction processing. Even if you pay multiple fines at once, the 20 AED fee is applied to each fine separately.

In other emirates (like Abu Dhabi or Sharjah), this fee may differ or not apply.

Step 6: Choose Payment Method

Available payment methods:

• Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
• Net Banking
• Apple Pay
• Google Pay
• Tabby (Pay Later — service fees apply)

Enter your payment details and confirm.

Step 7: Save Your Receipt

After successful payment, you'll receive an electronic receipt. Save it or email it to yourself for confirmation.
