Rent BMW X5 in Dubai: The German SUV That Does Everything Right

The BMW X5 ranks among the top-3 most rented business SUVs in the UAE. German engineering, xDrive AWD stability, and a 5-star safety rating make it the go-to choice for families and executives alike. 85% of X5 clients book it for family trips: five passengers, 5-6 full-size suitcases, wireless Apple CarPlay, and ventilated seats that matter when it's +42°C outside.

This is not a compromise between luxury and practicality. The X5 covers both without asking you to choose. Rentico delivers the 2024/2025 model to your hotel, DXB airport, or Business Bay office. No security deposit required. VAT included in the price.

Popular BMW X5 Configurations for Rent in Dubai

BMW X5 xDrive40i

The xDrive AWD system keeps the X5 planted on Sheikh Zayed Road at 120 km/h and stable during sudden lane changes in rain. The 40i trim with the M Sport package is the preferred pick for client meetings in DIFC and airport transfers to DXB. Composed, fast, fully loaded.

Renting a BMW X5 40i covers corporate runs, airport transfers, and multi-emirate trips along the E11. The Salik tag is built in — toll charges settle automatically at return.

BMW X5 M Sport

Ventilated front seats, panoramic roof, ISOFIX anchor points, and 500+ litres of boot space. This is what 85% of families choose when they need comfort for five adults and enough room for a Dubai Mall shopping haul.

Rent an SUV in Dubai with genuine cargo capacity: the X5 fits 5-6 full-size suitcases. Add a child seat (50 AED, installed by us) and the trip from DXB to Palm Jumeirah is covered door to door.

BMW X6 & X5 M

If the standard BMW X5 rental feels too restrained, the BMW X6M adds a fastback roofline and sharper throttle response. For clients who want the full M-division experience, this is the natural step up – same xDrive platform, more aggressive stance.

Hire a BMW X5 in Dubai or go straight to the X6M - both available with no deposit. Check the full BMW catalogue to compare trims and availability.

What to Know Before You Hire a BMW X5 in Dubai

Key Selection Factors

  • Ventilated seats: A non-negotiable in Dubai summers — the X5 M Sport has front ventilation standard. Check the car card before booking.
  • Boot space: 5-6 full-size cases fit without folding the rear seats — critical for family airport runs.
  • Salik tag: Every Rentico X5 carries a built-in Salik chip. Toll charges (4-6 AED per gate at peak hours) settle at return. No manual top-up needed.
  • CDW insurance: Included. Excess is 1,000 AED per incident. Drivers 25+ pay only the excess — an additional 20% surcharge applies to drivers under 25.
  • Apple CarPlay: Wireless, standard on all 2024/2025 X5 trims. No cable, no setup — works from the moment you sit down.

Before driving off, photograph the fuel gauge and confirm the Salik tag is active. The X5 TwinPower Turbo averages 10-12L/100km in city traffic — budget roughly 60-80 AED per 100km at current UAE pump prices. Plan your fill-up before return to avoid the surcharge.

Cost & Value Analysis

One Uber Black ride (Lexus ES class) in Dubai costs 180-220 AED. Three rides a day add up to 540-660 AED. A BMW X5 rental from Rentico starts at 650 AED daily — a fully loaded premium SUV, 250 km of included mileage, and no surge pricing.

A 3-day X5 rental at 700 AED/day totals 2,100 AED — less than six Uber Black rides at the same trip count. Weekly bookings bring the daily rate down further. Monthly car rental in Dubai delivers the steepest savings on premium SUVs.

    • Accidents caused while breaking the law (e.g. driving under the influence or fleeing the scene).

    • Lost keys or personal belongings in the car.

  • To book a car in Dubai, please send us a scan or photo of these documents:

    • Your passport

    • Your valid driver’s license (front and back)

    • An International Driving Permit (IDP) — this is required for citizens of some countries (see the list here).

If you’re from the EU, GCC, USA, UK, Canada, or a few other places, you don’t need an IDP. For people from Belarus and Ukraine, just your national driver’s license and passport are enough to book.

If you’re from Russia, Kazakhstan, or other CIS countries, an International Driving Permit is a must.

UAE residents should provide a valid UAE driver’s license and their Emirates ID. If your UAE license is less than 3 months old, please also send your national driver’s license showing you’ve been driving for 3 months or more.

  • Off-road use is a violation of the rental agreement and is not allowed.

    • Ages 18–21:
You can rent economy-class cars only. A refundable deposit of AED 2,000 is required.
Insurance terms: in case of an accident, you’ll pay the deductible (usually AED 1,000) plus 10% of the repair cost or vehicle value (in case of total loss).

    • Ages 21–25:
Most vehicles are available, except for certain luxury and high-performance models.
Insurance terms: the deductible ranges from AED 1,000 to 1,500 depending on the car class, plus 10% of the repair cost or car value (in case of total loss).

    • 25 and older:
All car categories are available. The 10% rule does not apply to insurance.

Minimum driving experience: 3 months (applies to all age groups).

If your UAE license is less than 3 months old but your original license shows more driving experience, you're still eligible to rent a car.

  • Any customer who has a valid UAE Driving License which is minimum 1 year old or above.

  • Yes — with Rentico, you can rent a car without a deposit or credit card.

You have two options: either leave a refundable deposit, or choose a no-deposit option by paying a small extra fee for the entire rental period. This fee starts from AED 27 and depends on the car and rental duration.

A credit card is not required.

  • If you want to rent a car in the UAE, in some cases you’ll need an International Driving Permit (IDP) along with your regular driver’s license. For example, people from Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, and some other countries need an IDP. You can find a list of the most common countries and their IDP requirements here.

You don’t need an International Driving Permit if you are:

    • A UAE resident. Just show your Emirates ID and a valid UAE driver’s license that’s been issued at least 3 months ago. If your UAE license is newer than that, you’ll also need to show your original national driver’s license proving you’ve been driving for more than 3 months.

    • A citizen of the EU, GCC, USA, UK, Canada, Belarus, or Ukraine. For renting a car, your national driver’s license and passport are enough.

In any case, you must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) reduces your liability in the event of an accident during your car rental. Without this, you could be liable for the full cost of the rental car if it were to be damaged or written off. CDW means you won’t have to pay the full cost of any repairs as long as you’ve followed the T&Cs.

CDW is always included when booking with rentico.ae with Excess or Excess Reimbursement. CDW is sometimes known as Loss Damage Waiver or Damage Excess Waiver.

  • Yes. All 2024/2025 X5 trims in the Rentico fleet include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Connect your phone the moment you sit down — no cable needed. Google Maps and Waze work seamlessly for Dubai navigation.

  • Yes. The X5 has ISOFIX anchor points in the rear seats. All child seat types (infant, child, booster) are available for 50 AED per rental. Our team installs the seat — confirm the child’s age when booking via WhatsApp. Rent with a child seat.
