Kia Soul in Dubai: The Smart Urban Crossover That Earns Its Keep

Navigating Business Bay at 8 AM in a car that fits a standard parking bay and seats five adults with luggage - that's the actual job description of the Kia Soul 2022 in Dubai. Its boxy silhouette isn't a design statement, it's a functional choice.

The 360° visibility from the high seating position lets you read the lane markings on Sheikh Zayed Road before the car next to you registers the merge. Ground clearance sits at 160 mm - enough to clear the speed bumps in JVC without drama. The cabin handles +45°C outside without breaking a sweat. Three medium suitcases fit in the boot with the rear seats up. One day rental costs less than two airport taxi runs. The math works.

Popular Types of Kia Soul for Rent in Dubai

Compact City Crossover

The Kia Soul 2022 delivers a higher seating position than a sedan, with a turning radius tight enough for Dubai Mall’s multi-storey car park. Against the Hyundai Venue or Nissan Kicks, the Soul wins on interior headroom and rear-seat width — critical when you’re cutting between Downtown and the Marina daily.

Rent a Kia Soul in Dubai - the urban go-to
Ideal for solo travellers, couples, and short-stay residents who need reliable A-to-B transport with Apple CarPlay navigation and enough boot space for carry-on bags. Browse the full KIA cars lineup to compare trims before booking.

Family Hatchback Alternative

The rear bench of the Soul 2022 fits two child seats with ISOFIX points – a spec most compact crossovers in this rental price band skip. The wide rear door opening makes getting kids in and out straightforward, even in a tight airport pick-up lane.

Affordable Soul rental — family-ready without the SUV price tag.
Stack it against the Hyundai Venue or Nissan Kicks and the Soul beats both on rear passenger space. A solid pick for families who don't need a full-size SUV but won't compromise on practicality.

Tech-Oriented Daily Driver

The 2022 Soul ships with an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto as standard – which matters when you’re navigating Dubai’s interchanges for the first time. The Salik chip is pre-installed, so toll gates on Al Garhoud Bridge charge automatically.

Cheap Kia Soul rentals with premium connectivity
Compare it to economy cars that strip out CarPlay to hit a lower price point - the Soul keeps the tech. For longer stays, check monthly car rental in Dubai rates for additional savings.

What to Know Before You Hire a Kia Soul in Dubai

Key Selection Factors

  • High seating position: 40–50 mm higher than a comparable sedan — sight lines in dense Business Bay traffic are noticeably better.
  • Ground clearance (160 mm): Clears standard Dubai speed bumps cleanly. In Al Barsha residential zones, approach at an angle on aggressive bumps.
  • Apple CarPlay / Android Auto: Built-in on all 2022 units. Essential for navigating Dubai’s interchange-heavy road network without a separate GPS.
  • CDW insurance included: 1,000 AED excess per incident. Glass and tyre damage sit outside standard cover.
  • 5000 km/month mileage: Covers Dubai–Abu Dhabi and back with room to spare. Extra km billed at 1 AED for economy class.

Check that the window tint is intact before you drive off - the Soul's panoramic glass area is large, and Dubai's +45°C summer sun turns an untinted cabin into an oven within minutes. All Rentico vehicles come with factory tint, but verify it during the handover walk-around. Fuel: 91 octane only. Available at every ENOC and ADNOC station across the city. No exceptions.

Cost & Value Analysis

One taxi ride from DXB to Dubai Marina runs 100–120 AED. A single day’s Kia Soul rental in Dubai costs 150 AED – and covers the whole day, not just one trip. Weekly rental drops the effective daily rate further. Rent affordable cars in Dubai for a full breakdown of short-term rate tiers.

Renting the Kia Soul for 7 days at 150 AED/day totals 1 050 AED. Seven equivalent taxi runs between hotel and office cost roughly 700–840 AED — and you wait in the heat for each one. The Soul pays for itself by day two.

You can pay the fine yourself and send us confirmatio

  • All our cars come with Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) insurance, which reduces or covers your financial liability in case of an accident.

Please note: CDW insurance does not cover:

    • Damage to tires, glass, mirrors, or the underbody.

    • Accidents caused while breaking the law (e.g. driving under the influence or fleeing the scene).

    • Lost keys or personal belongings in the car.

    • Your passport

    • Your valid driver’s license (front and back)

    • An International Driving Permit (IDP) — this is required for citizens of some countries (see the list here).

If you’re from the EU, GCC, USA, UK, Canada, or a few other places, you don’t need an IDP. For people from Belarus and Ukraine, just your national driver’s license and passport are enough to book.

If you’re from Russia, Kazakhstan, or other CIS countries, an International Driving Permit is a must.

UAE residents should provide a valid UAE driver’s license and their Emirates ID. If your UAE license is less than 3 months old, please also send your national driver’s license showing you’ve been driving for 3 months or more.

  • Off-road use is a violation of the rental agreement and is not allowed.

    • Ages 18–21:
You can rent economy-class cars only. A refundable deposit of AED 2,000 is required.
Insurance terms: in case of an accident, you’ll pay the deductible (usually AED 1,000) plus 10% of the repair cost or vehicle value (in case of total loss).

    • Ages 21–25:
Most vehicles are available, except for certain luxury and high-performance models.
Insurance terms: the deductible ranges from AED 1,000 to 1,500 depending on the car class, plus 10% of the repair cost or car value (in case of total loss).

    • 25 and older:
All car categories are available. The 10% rule does not apply to insurance.

Minimum driving experience: 3 months (applies to all age groups).

If your UAE license is less than 3 months old but your original license shows more driving experience, you're still eligible to rent a car.

  • Any customer who has a valid UAE Driving License which is minimum 1 year old or above.

  • Yes — with Rentico, you can rent a car without a deposit or credit card.

A credit card is not required.

  • If you want to rent a car in the UAE, in some cases you’ll need an International Driving Permit (IDP) along with your regular driver’s license. For example, people from Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, and some other countries need an IDP. You can find a list of the most common countries and their IDP requirements here.

You don’t need an International Driving Permit if you are:

    • A UAE resident. Just show your Emirates ID and a valid UAE driver’s license that’s been issued at least 3 months ago. If your UAE license is newer than that, you’ll also need to show your original national driver’s license proving you’ve been driving for more than 3 months.

    • A citizen of the EU, GCC, USA, UK, Canada, Belarus, or Ukraine. For renting a car, your national driver’s license and passport are enough.

In any case, you must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) reduces your liability in the event of an accident during your car rental. Without this, you could be liable for the full cost of the rental car if it were to be damaged or written off. CDW means you won’t have to pay the full cost of any repairs as long as you’ve followed the T&Cs.

CDW is always included when booking with rentico.ae with Excess or Excess Reimbursement. CDW is sometimes known as Loss Damage Waiver or Damage Excess Waiver.

  • Yes. All Rentico Kia Soul units are fully-loaded 2022 models: 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto as standard. Connect your phone and run Google Maps or Waze from the moment you leave the car park.
