Help

  • Refueling in Dubai is quick and convenient thanks to modern infrastructure and great service.

    Major fuel station networks include:

    • ENOC (Emirates National Oil Company)
    • EPPCO (Emirates Petroleum Products Company)
    • ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company)
    • Emarat

You don’t need to leave the car — an attendant will fill the tank for you. Just tell them the fuel type and how much you want.

For Rentico cars, use Special 95 or Super 98 petrol. Please check with your manager to confirm the correct fuel type for your rental vehicle.

Both cash and cards are accepted. If you don’t have a local bank card, we recommend paying in cash to avoid foreign transaction fees.

  • You can return your rental car in Dubai in the way that’s most convenient for you:

    Free return:

    • Anywhere in Dubai for rentals over AED 1,000
    • At our office:
Anantara Downtown — Business Tower, G02, Business Bay, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (view on map).

    Paid return:

    • Anywhere in Dubai — AED 99 (incl. VAT)
    • Al Maktoum Airport — AED 149 (incl. VAT)
    • DXB Airport — AED 99 (incl. VAT)

    Important return notes:

    • Airport parking fees are paid by the renter.
    • The fuel level must match what it was at pickup, or fuel charges will apply.
    • The car must be returned in the same condition as when delivered.
  • Dubai has strict traffic laws, and most violations are recorded by automatic cameras.

    Common reasons for fines:

    • Speeding — AED 300 to 3,000 (the higher the speed, the higher the fine)
    • Running a red light — AED 1,000 (vehicle may be impounded)
    • Not wearing a seatbelt — AED 400
    • Using a phone while driving — AED 800
    • Parking violations — from AED 150
    • Illegal U-turn or turn — AED 400
    • Driving on the hard shoulder — up to AED 1,000
    • Driving under the influence — AED 20,000 to 100,000, plus possible jail time, vehicle confiscation, and license suspension
    • Transporting a child under 4 without a certified car seat or allowing a child under 10 (under 145 cm) to sit in the front — AED 400

    How to pay fines?

All fines are reported to our team. We notify the renter and explain payment options:

    • Through the Dubai Police website.
    • Via the Dubai Police or RTA Dubai mobile apps.
    • In some cases, fines can be paid when returning the car.

You can pay the fine yourself and send us confirmation, or we can pay it for you — a 10% service fee will be added to the total.

  • All our cars come with Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) insurance, which reduces or covers your financial liability in case of an accident.

CDW limits the amount you're responsible for. The rental price includes standard coverage with a deductible of AED 1,000–1,500, depending on the car model.
If you're at fault, you’ll only need to pay the deductible.
If the accident is not your fault, you don’t pay anything.

To make a claim, a police report is required:

    • A green report means you’re not at fault — no payment needed.
    • A red report means you’re at fault — the deductible applies.

Please note: CDW insurance does not cover:

    • Damage to tires, glass, mirrors, or the underbody.
    • Accidents caused while breaking the law (e.g. driving under the influence or fleeing the scene).
    • Lost keys or personal belongings in the car.
  • Dubai has a convenient and flexible parking payment system. You can choose from several options:

    1. Via the RTA Dubai mobile app
Download the app, select the parking zone, enter your car plate number, and pay using a bank card or a Nol card (available at metro stations and shopping malls).
    2. Via SMS
If you have a local SIM card, send a message to 7275 in the format:
plate number [space] zone code [space] number of hours
      Example: A12345 123A 2 (for 2 hours in zone 123A)
    3. Via parking meters
Meters accept coins (1 AED and 50 fils) and Nol cards.

    Standard paid parking hours:

    • Monday to Saturday: 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM
    • Sundays and public holidays are free

    Parking rates in Dubai:

    • Zone A – AED 4/hour (AED 6 during peak hours)
    • Zone B – AED 3/hour (AED 4–6 during peak hours)
    • Zone C & D – AED 2/hour (AED 4–6 during peak hours)

Peak hours: 8:00–10:00 AM and 4:00–8:00 PM
Maximum parking time: 4–5 hours (you must extend afterward)

Fines for parking violations in Dubai:

    • Unpaid parking — AED 150
    • Overtime — AED 100
    • Parking in a prohibited area — AED 200
    • Parking in a disabled spot without a permit — AED 1,000

Important: Illegally parked cars may be towed.

  • All our rental cars are equipped with Salik tags — Dubai’s electronic toll system. Tolls are charged automatically when you pass through a Salik gate.

You can pay for all tolls when returning the car.

The standard toll fee is AED 5 per gate. During peak hours, the fee increases to AED 8.
Entering Dubai Mall also triggers a Salik charge.

  • You get 250 km per day included for free. If you exceed the total mileage limit, each extra kilometer will cost AED 1–5, depending on the car class.

You can drive as much as you want on any day — charges apply only if your total mileage during the rental exceeds the allowed limit.

  • To book a car in Dubai, please send us a scan or photo of these documents:

    • Your passport
    • Your valid driver’s license (front and back)
    • An International Driving Permit (IDP) — this is required for citizens of some countries (see the list here).

If you’re from the EU, GCC, USA, UK, Canada, or a few other places, you don’t need an IDP. For people from Belarus and Ukraine, just your national driver’s license and passport are enough to book.

If you’re from Russia, Kazakhstan, or other CIS countries, an International Driving Permit is a must.

UAE residents should provide a valid UAE driver’s license and their Emirates ID. If your UAE license is less than 3 months old, please also send your national driver’s license showing you’ve been driving for 3 months or more.

  • Off-road use is a violation of the rental agreement and is not allowed.

    • Ages 18–21:
You can rent economy-class cars only. A refundable deposit of AED 2,000 is required.
Insurance terms: in case of an accident, you’ll pay the deductible (usually AED 1,000) plus 10% of the repair cost or vehicle value (in case of total loss).
    • Ages 21–25:
Most vehicles are available, except for certain luxury and high-performance models.
Insurance terms: the deductible ranges from AED 1,000 to 1,500 depending on the car class, plus 10% of the repair cost or car value (in case of total loss).
    • 25 and older:
All car categories are available. The 10% rule does not apply to insurance.

Minimum driving experience: 3 months (applies to all age groups).

If your UAE license is less than 3 months old but your original license shows more driving experience, you're still eligible to rent a car.

  • Any customer who has a valid UAE Driving License which is minimum 1 year old or above.

  • If you're involved in an accident, call the police immediately at 999, then contact us right away to report the incident. You’ll also need to fill out a damage report for the insurance.

Your financial responsibility will depend on whether you were at fault — we review each case individually and guide you through the next steps.

  • We offer several convenient ways to pay for your car rental in Dubai — choose what works best for you:

    • Cash — in AED, USD, or EUR.
    • Debit and credit cards — including Russian cards in RUB.
    • Bank transfers.
  • Yes — with Rentico, you can rent a car without a deposit or credit card.

You have two options: either leave a refundable deposit, or choose a no-deposit option by paying a small extra fee for the entire rental period. This fee starts from AED 27 and depends on the car and rental duration.

A credit card is not required.

  • If you want to rent a car in the UAE, in some cases you’ll need an International Driving Permit (IDP) along with your regular driver’s license. For example, people from Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, and some other countries need an IDP. You can find a list of the most common countries and their IDP requirements here.

You don’t need an International Driving Permit if you are:

    • A UAE resident. Just show your Emirates ID and a valid UAE driver’s license that’s been issued at least 3 months ago. If your UAE license is newer than that, you’ll also need to show your original national driver’s license proving you’ve been driving for more than 3 months.
    • A citizen of the EU, GCC, USA, UK, Canada, Belarus, or Ukraine. For renting a car, your national driver’s license and passport are enough.

In any case, you must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) reduces your liability in the event of an accident during your car rental. Without this, you could be liable for the full cost of the rental car if it were to be damaged or written off. CDW means you won’t have to pay the full cost of any repairs as long as you’ve followed the T&Cs.

CDW is always included when booking with rentico.ae with Excess or Excess Reimbursement. CDW is sometimes known as Loss Damage Waiver or Damage Excess Waiver.
